| Day 13 Posse Ride Eastern Campaign Saturday June 25, 2005 Cumberland MD to Danbury, CT 454 miles Hot, up to 100 degrees, very humid and sunny States: 34-Delaware, 35-New Jersey, 36-New York, 37-Connecticut Rode with: Jay, Jay's dad Paul, Giggles, and Pepe Jay is leading today, since he is New Jersey police. Its a long day, through heavy New Jersey and New York traffic. We lead into New Jersey and then Jay takes up the lead. We pull into a rest stop to wait for Jay's dad, who is going to ride part of the day with us. At the rest stop Giggles and Pepe pull in, and they are already stressed by the New Jersey traffic, and they just got here. We convince them to join us. Dad shows up, and we take an alternative route to the New Jersey turnpike, it's a nice ride. Now we go to New Jersey Liberty State Park. From there we can see Ellis Island, the Statute of Liberty and New York City. |
